About the Event
Team Domenica’s epic swim challenge is back! Bridging the gap between indoor and outdoor swimming, Great Lengths is an amazing opportunity for you to challenge yourself and make a difference. Join us as an individual or team, and fundraise to help people with learning disabilities – our candidates – find paid employment and reach their full potential.
Great Lengths is Brighton & Hove’s only inclusive swim challenge. A ‘challenge’ looks different to everyone, and that’s why Great Lengths isn’t a competition. It’s a community event, jam-packed with excitement and adventure, where participants can choose from a range of distances (50m to 5k).
Why not take the plunge and go to Great Lengths for people with learning disabilities on Saturday 21 September…
Why go to Great Lengths?
Great Lengths is an event raising money for Team Domenica, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities to find paid work and thrive in life.
“[Team Domenica] has changed my life. It’s given me lots of new friends; it’s given me hope. I feel ready for the future and like I can do anything!”
Laoisha, Team Domenica Candidate
People with learning disabilities have the right to work, to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives, and to feel included as valued members of society. Our candidates challenge themselves almost every day in their training, and we’re inviting you to challenge yourself too…

It was a really welcoming environment; I was embarrassed that I was only doing 100m as I am not a swimmer, but I was cheered on the same as everyone else and felt really supported.Swimmer from Great Lengths 2023
Step 2: Start your fundraising & training
This event is all about showing the world what you are capable of. It’s also about raising money and awareness for Team Domenica so we can continue creating bright futures for people with learning disabilities. The organisation and support was fantastic, everyone was so happy and the atmosphere was wonderful. So proud of the TD team and candidates who swam and the spectators who cheered everyone on!Kara Evans, Swimmer from Great Lengths 2023
